We are currently being the only fully-certified growing media supplier with vertically integrated supply chain. Choose reliability and credibility above false idols and lies.
Supermarkets and consumers are demanding increased product quality and traceability, as well as accredited standards for companies operating throughout the food supply chain.
The growing trend for social accountability in retailer sourcing has implications for the immediate and wider supply chain. Pre-empting this shift, Cocogreen® is the only substrate company to gain accreditation to the Social Accountability Standard SA8000.
A comprehensive auditable social certification standard it applies to our whole operation, not just the manufacturing. SA8000 measures social compliance with elements including child labour, discrimination, working hours and remuneration. One of the world’s first auditable social certification standards for decent workplaces, it is based on conventions of the UN and the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
Quality Management System
Cocogreen® is the only coir substrate manufacturer to be fully accredited in the quality and environmental areas of its business. In 2014 we gained the quality ISO9001:2008 accreditation across all our Sri Lankan production facilities.
All chemical product data is independently verified on a regular basis at leading laboratories NRM, BLGG Agro Xpertus. At Cocogreen® we benchmark our chemical properties above the RHP standard, making our products enviably low in sodium, chloride and potassium; with electrical conductivity < 0.35mS/cm at the premium grade. This helps ensure strong foundations for crops grown in Cocogreen® buffered coir coco peat products.
Another first among coir substrate manufacturers was when Cocogreen® joined LEAF - Linking Environment and Farming. The UK’s leading organisation promoting sustainable agriculture, food and farming, LEAF helps farmers and growers produce good food, with care and to high environmental standards.
Environmentally Friendly Agriculture
ECOCERT is an inspection and certification body established in France in 1991 by agronomists aware of the need to develop environmentally friendly agriculture and of the importance of offering some form of recognition to those committed to this method of production.
From its creation, ECOCERT is specialized in the certification of organic agricultural products
ECOCERT contributed to the expansion of organic farming in the 1990s by helping to draw up French and European regulations. Still very involved in promoting organic farming, Ecocert today works with French and international institutions in supporting project development. By winning the confidence of professionals and consumers, ECOCERT has become a benchmark in organic certification worldwide.
